  The Sorgen Conference Center is a state-of-the art, multi-purpose meeting room available for business presentations, educational seminars, meetings, and staff retreats

  The Center is conveniently located off of I-695 just 15 minutes from downtown Baltimore.We offer a warm and inviting atmosphere with comfortable seating for up to 20 people. Internet access, a large viewing screen for presentations, and convenient off street parking make the Center an ideal location to host your event.

  The PET E.R. located on Cromwell Bridge Road on Luskin Hill in Towson offers immediate treatment for any emergency situation, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year including nights, weekends and holidays.  The PET E.R. is the leading emergency veterinary hospital in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Their experienced emergency and critical care doctors and nurses provide medical and surgical services around the clock in a state-of-the-art facility. Their team members are committed to the care and treatment of your pet, while providing comfort, support and clear communication.

   In time of emergency their paws are in good hands. This exemplifies the PET E.R..  They offer a variety of treatment options for many cases seen each and every day, cases involving vomiting & diarrhea, seizures, infections, heart conditions, lacerations, wounds, severe trauma, breathing difficulties, broken bones, toxin ingestion, urinary difficulties, inability to walk, heat stroke and emergency surgery.  The PET E.R. shares its facilities and can refer patients to the Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC).  The CVRC is a group of highly trained specialists in the fields of cardiology, dentistry, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology and surgery. 

  The doctors at EMRVC recommend, if we are closed or cant be reached, to not hesitate to call the PET E.R. (410-252-8387) with any question or emergency situation that may arise with your pet.  If your pet needs to be hospitalized at the PET E.R., once stabilized, you have the option to return to us at EMRVC for continued medical care and surgery.  In some instances we may recommend your pet remain at the PET E.R. for continued critical care or advanced treatment from a specialist at the CVRC.

  We exist to transform the lives of our veterans by helping them save an at-risk shelter dog or cat. With your support, we can end animal homelessness in the U.S. and enrich the lives of the men and women who serve, and have served our country, and consistently give the gifts of fidelity, joy and companionship to both pet and person through honorable companion pet adoption.

  We will achieve our mission by dedicating ourselves to increasing the adoption of the most at-risk shelter pets and, in so doing, demonstrating our gratitude to members of the military community. Everything we do will support opportunities for our member Patriots to adopt an adult dog or cat, large dog or special needs dog or cat, those most in need of a loving, forever homes and give them the resources to assure a lifetime of whiskers and wet noses.

  Our mission is a call to duty to:

  • Facilitate hard-to-place shelter animal adoptions by military personnel, working with our network of member shelters, veterinarians and other pet care providers
  • Improve the well-being of service personnel through companion pet adoption, a humane way of easing the stresses of military transitions as service members return from deployment, re-enter civilian life or retire
  • Foster education and awareness of the causes, conditions and numbers of animals relinquished to shelters each year in the United States, enjoining individuals around the country to our cause

• BARCS

  Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, Inc. (BARCS) is a non-profit organization created in July 2005 to take over the operations of the city shelter and to work directly with Baltimore City Animal Control. They help homeless, neglected, and unwanted animals in Baltimore City. BARCS' mission is to accept and care for all animals in need and promote responsible pet ownership for a more humane community in Baltimore City.

  
  

  BARCS helped to save over 8,600 lives in 2013 through adoptions, working with rescues, and reaching out to veterinary hospitals like Essex Middle River Veterinary Center for the treatment and care of sick and injured animals.

  At Essex Middle River Veterinary Center, our top priority is providing your furry family member with the highest quality care. However, not everyone can afford the best medical treatment for their pet. 

  
  

  Pet insurance is one way pet owners deal with these unexpected costs. After researching all the options, we have decided to recommend pet insurance from Trupanion for our clients. Please note, EMRVC does not receive any compensation for this recommendation.

  
  

  The basic idea of Trupanion insurance is that once you have met the deductible for a specific problem (determined by you), Trupanion will cover 90% of your pet's invoice for that problem, or the lifetime of your pet (visit http://www.trupanion.com for further details). Most other pet insurances don't have lifetime coverage after the deductible.

  
  

  

• Pets of the Homeless

  Pets of the Homeless is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides pet food and veterinary care to the homeless in local communities across the United States and Canada.  Our efforts have effects far beyond the care of the pets themselves.  Read the frequently asked questions (FAQ's) for details.

  Recruiting collection sites and distributing organizations as well as awarding grants are a small part of what we do.  We answer hundreds of requests for information on how to start a pet food pantry, how to volunteer, how to help a homeless person on the street, how to donate if there isn't a collection site in the area, where to take pet food, and where to get pet food and veterinary care.  We work with social workers, school children, Scouts, churches and companies who want to help. We talk with homeless everyday about their pets.

  Our Mission:

  Feeding Pets of the Homeless believes in the healing power of companion pets and of the human/animal bond which is very important in the lives of many homeless.  They find solace, protection and companionship through their pets.  They care for their pets on limited resources so they themselves have less.  Our task, nationwide, is to feed and provide basic emergency veterinary care to their pets and thus relieve the anguish and anxiety of the homeless who cannot provide for their pets.
