Going in and out of the cold into the warmth of the house can cause dry, itchy skin in pets.  We do recommend towel drying your pet when they come in, especially between the toes where snowballs can form.  After walking your pet outside along roads, etc., remember to wash and dry your pet’s feet and stomach to remove salt and chemicals.  You can massage petroleum jelly or a paw protectant on and in between the paw pads to help protect these areas. Booties are also a great idea.

Keep your animals inside during colder weather.  The general rule of thumb is, if it is too cold for you, it’s probably too cold for your pets.
